There's No Folger's In My Cup....But On My Face!
Hey there Beauty B's!
Hope you are all doing well out there tonight. Sometimes I get this amazing ideas and just have to run with them and tonight was one of them. My skin was a little dry today I think someone forgot to drink plenty of water yesterday, so I was feeling it today in my skin. The first thing I did was I looked in my skin care box and didn't want to try any new items yet. Well, I did some digging and came up with the idea about coffee. So I did some digging online and found some ideas about a coffee mask I did. Now for some people this mask will cost nothing as you have everything in your cabinets already, and for others it will cost less than $5 and you that's for more than one mask. Talk about a major value Beauty B's! So check out my DIY Coffee Face Mask for smooth bright skin!
First I would like to start with the ingredients and then after I will break down the details as to what these two, yes only two ingredients do for your skin. I literally was overwhelmed when I found out have many wonderful benefits I could get just from the one mask that I didn't even know I had.
2 Tablespoons of instant ground coffee. If you want a thinner consistency you need to use maybe just 1 Tablespoon. I personally wanted my mask thick.
1 1/2 Tablespoons of 2% or whole milk. If you want a thinner consistency you will have to eye it a little bit as to the look you want and adjust accordingly.
Mix the two ingredients together in a bowl until the product is smooth yet thick.....or for some it may be thin. Try to get the grounds broken up best you can but some chunks left is not a big deal. I recommend using an old flat foundation brush to apply the mask to your skin. Fair warning it's very sticky. After you apply the mask leave on for 15-3o minutes depending on how much love your skin needs that day. Please wash your face before doing this mask.
*Be Careful under the eye area as your lashes could stick to the mask....it's sticky and sweet!*
So here is the scoop of these two simple ingredients that can really save you when in a jam!
-Milk- What does milk do for the skin you may be asking. Well, the answer it that milk has lactic acid. Lactic acid is great to help with pigmentation issues, heal dry skin, hydrate the skin, heal acne, and can even help with dry skin and the dreaded sunburn. Milk also will help get rid of all the dead skin cells on your skin revealing a smooth radiant glow underneath. Big bonus this mask is great for soothing razor burn. Great for men out there who have dry skin, the dreaded coarse hair, or just issues with shaving in general that leave the skin irritated. Milk can help with the inflammation of the skin.
-Coffee- So this is something we are all familiar with and that is Coffee. What does coffee have in it? Yep, caffeine and that's what many skin care products have in them. Think about this, we drink coffee to energize ourselves, so why not energize our skin. Caffeine also guys is anti-inflammatory and can help calm down redness of the skin. Sometimes it's not just us that need a boost of caffeine in the morning but our skin too! However, coffee isn't just full of caffeine it also has anti-oxidants in it. With consistent use this can help combat the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Big bonus is that it can also help improve you skins elasticity.
So Beauty B's the next time you grab a cup of coffee, think about giving your skin some too.
Gotta Go Beauty B's
Did I mention that this New York boy now drives. I felt like Mother Monster getting a driving license.
