A Bumpy Year For Your Skin Or Maybe Not!
Hey there Beauty B's!
Sorry for the silence but sometimes even a Beauty Guru can get overwhelmed with things all around them. We may now be in 2021, but for some of us we are still having issues with our skin more than ever before. Many people including myself have started having break outs and for some it's a new experience. I am right there with all of you and have truly found some great results with the products I am going to suggest below to kick that maskne to the curb......or at least try to tame it a little. I have had great results recommending the products below to clients. Now I will say not all formulas fit all people, but these have truly had great results for many I have made the simple suggestion to just try them. So sit tight because you are in for a not so bumpy ride!
I would like to start out by by recommending this amazing cleanser that many have had such great results with including myself. You see this cleanser has dual purposes, meaning not only will it keep your skin clean and clear but it also has anti-aging benefits as some acne ingredients do work also for that purpose. This product does feature two ingredients that I have heard my favorite lady Dr. Pimple Popper mention and those are Lactic Acid and Salicylic Acid great for combating acne and for keeping you young and vibrant. There is the added bonus of Niacinamide which could help possibly with pigmentation issues and the energizing ingredients of ginseng and green tea. The product literally makes your skin feel cool and clean after you rinse it off which is why I am in LOVE! You have to celebrate that this product is clean beauty, vegan friendly, and sulfate free.....don't worry it still foams up with better for your ingredients. Check out PUR Cosmetics See No More Deep Pore Cleanser which retails for $24 at Ulta, and of course Purcosmetics.com. One word to the wise....less is more meaning you don't need to pump it out like hand soap, a pea size drop will get the job done! (P.S. the product on Ulta.com has a 4.5 star rating!)
Moving right along I wanted to talk about toning, which I am finding is a step that many skip but right now could be a skin hero step. I being a male that shaves, wears makeup, and the face mask understands the importance of removing any residual buildup on the skin that your cleanser may not have fully gotten. On top of that your toner is balancing the pH of your skin while removing the lingering impurities. So, what toner have I been suggesting and have been getting amazing results with? Well myself and many of my clients have all been flocking to The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner. Not only does this do the job but it is also very affordable. You can purchase this product for $8.70 at your local Ulta Beauty or anywhere that sells the Ordinary line. I must warn that this toner sells out often so be patient if you can't get your hands on the product right away. With PH balancing properties along with exfoliating benefits this will truly help smooth out your skin and make it balanced again. I swear by this product and added bonus it has helped with ingrown hairs on my face......don't use after shaving!
Moving right along in my suggested routine would be the all important moisturizer. With it being a drier time of the year many need a little more moisture to their skin which often times lack of moisture can cause breakouts. I would like to suggest something very gentle yet effective and packed full of great ingredients. My go to is called PUR Soak It Up. Now I will warn you that you have to purchase this only through Purcosmetics.com as it no longer is in stores which breaks my heart. The highlights of this product would have to be it's like a salve but not to the point where you feel sticky. Definitely less is more with this bad boy but your skin will drink it up. The reason I love this product so much is it is gentle and has ingredients that are still effective. Ingredients such as Green Tea, Aloe, and Japonicus Root Extract just to highlight a few. Better hurry though because it has sold out before and is only $34. (Added Bonus: I actually used this on an eczema flare up and it was amazing now I have a stockpile!)
Finally I will end you guys with two honorable mention products that I won't go too crazy into details about but they could be great tools to add to your beauty arsenal. The first one I mention would be The Ordinary BHA AHA Peel. It has done wonders for fading small spots that acne can leave and of course helping to improve skins appearance. Word to the wise though: IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE PROCEED WITH CAUTION AND DO A SMALL TEST PATCH FIRST.) You also need to not do what I and many other beauty bloggers have done and make the mask thick on the skin. It should be a thin layer and your should not look like you are having a full on Vampire Facial. Price is $7.20.
Finally you all knew I was going to pull out ole reliable. That's right Dirty Girl is the mask that has saved so many of my clients skin and my own. It is a detox mask that will pull out the bad junk and can even can help with cystic acne and hormonal. Less is more with this mask since it is a thick detox mud mask. A tube can last a decent amount of time and you really only should be using it in large areas of the face once to twice a week. You can do more if you use it as a spot treatment. It does has the Bentonite, Salicylic Acid, and Pascalite Clay. It does tighten and pulsates on the skin at times. I am not fully sensitive but redness does occur on my skin after rinsing off so I suggest using it at night when you aren't going to be out and about and can follow up with your skin care routine. (IF SENSITVE PLEASE DO TEST PATCH FIRST!) Price is $29 at Ulta and also Purcosmetics.com
I really hope you guys think about some of these suggestions. I am truly in stores listening to people and making skin suggestions that have helped so many. I also think it's great that these are economical yet effective suggestions because beauty products can get pricey and everyone deserves some suggestions for the EVERYDAYBEAUTY!
I am off to relax and celebrate the creative juices are flowing again. Sit back and relax, and hopefully if you try any of my suggestions it starts to be smooth sailing for your skin.

We took a hard left, but we're alright
Yeah, life sure can try to put love through it, but
We built this right, so nothing's ever gonna move it
Yeah, the paint could peel, the glass could shatter
Let it rain 'cause you and I remain the same
When there ain't a crack in the foundation
Baby, I know any storm we're facing
Will blow right over while we stay put
The house don't fall when the bones are good
Can't even mess it up, though we both try
No, it don't always go the way we planned it
But the wolves came and went and we're still standing
