Beauty Sins
- Are you guilty of falling asleep in your makeup? This sin is deadly for your skin and if you stop doing this mistake even after a long night out on the town, you will wake up the next day not hating yourself, or your skin. A quick fix....I recommend the Tony Moly makeup wipes at Ulta.com, and Ulta Beauty. Follow this step up with your cleansing. Not going to lie, after a night of too many cocktails, this is super refreshing for me and sometimes helps me feel way better falling asleep.
- How long have you really been using that mascara? Sure some people have a million mascaras and use them sparingly, while others keeping using the same one over and over and over never to replace it until it's too late. Beauty B's, every three months just throw that mascara into the trash can. Yes, I know that YSL mascara is expensive, but can you put a price on your eyes?
- Some may wanna wash that man right out of their hair, but how about wash that bacteria out of your makeup brush. I have to tell you this, every Sunday I deep clean my makeup brushes with brush shampoo. This includes my pro set for work. I let them all air dry for 24 hours. Yes, 24 hours. This has changed my skin and I literally break out less than ever before. On top of that I like to use IT Cosmetics Brush bath after each use of my brushes. (Please note this you can use baby shampoo however, you might want to invest in ECO Tools Brush shampoo as it breaks up the oils in your brushes better. This week alone while visiting an Ulta I have sold out of that brush shampoo.
- Don't put your face behind Bars.....Soap that is. Look I have read article, after article about bar soap and what it does to your face. It's great for the body, however not for the face. You need some oils left on your face. Bar soap as many dermatologist say strips your face and you need to use a facial cleanser. So even though you may have good looking skin, that bar soap in the long run isn't going to do you well. (Suggestions: Purity by Philosophy, In The Clear by PUR Cosmetics, Simplicity by PUR Cosmetics, Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, and for the men out there Jack Black Daily Facial Cleanser......this is for the man's man...aka the rugged guy that wants to take care of his skin but wants it to be manly.
- Here is a big, big NO. When you are in store ask someone how to use a tester. WE that are in the beauty industry know how to properly sanitize lipsticks for your to use. Never just pick up a lipstick and apply it to your lips. Another scary thing how many people have used that mascara wand. Ask or look for a disposable wand before you dare try out that wand of the tester. I know the wand and the formula is what make the mascara the item you want, but just say no! Lastly, that lip gloss may be popping, but don't you dare use that wand. They make disposable wands for a reason, and on top of that many artist in store has makeup brushes in which they use brush cleanser that has antibacterial properties in it. They can help apply, or even give you the proper wand if they are paying attention or you ask for one. I personally educate everyone I see using the wand not to make them feel bad, it's to save them. I actually do care, I am not being mean, I want you to be safe.
- Sharing is not caring! If you remember this old commercial about double mint gum, they said sharing is caring and it can be fun. Is pink eye fun? Sharing mascara, not matter how clean you are is a no, no. This rule applies even to family. Your eye cooties could cause problems for others and vice versa. Your health is just as important as your vanity!
- As a child your mother probably told you to wash your hands before dinner. Well, did you wash your hands before you applied your skin care. Your hands touch so many thing, that is why it is vital to have clean hands before you apply skin care. However, I recommend this to solve the problem. Pur Cosmetics Pillow Blend Collection brushes for this (purcosmetics.com ulta.com or visit your local Ulta Beauty.
- Hydrate yourself. Here is the thing you need to moisturize before you apply your makeup, and after you take off and cleanses your skin. You will see a vast improvement of your skin with this. In a later post this week I will break down and give you a step by step of your skin care routine.
- My last sin of the day is the sensation of over exfoliation. Look here is the deal......you do not need or should you exfoliate everyday. For normal to sensitive skin you should exfoliate two times a week For oily skin, or those that live in dry climates, I recommend three times a week to remove the build up of dead skin cells. The products I recommend are: PUR Cosmetics Joystick, Aveeno Positively Radiant 60 Second Radiant Facial, Pixi Glow Tonic, Good Genes by Sunday Riley, and lastly Kate Sommerville Exfolikate,
These are only a few sins that have really been weighing on me lately. So here are some sins to change for you to be a beauty saint. These sins can damage your skin and put your beauty health in danger.
Gotta go research a product someone sent me.....

So not to be vain but I had to use these lyrics and I don't know why but I hear the song and go crazy.
Damn, my AP goin' psycho, lil' mama bad like Michael
Can't really trust nobody with all this jewelry on you
My roof look like a no-show, got diamonds by the boatload
Come with the Tony Romo for clowns and all the bozos
My AP goin' psycho, lil' mama bad like Michael
Can't really trust nobody with all this jewelry on you
My roof look like a no-show, got diamonds by the boatload
Don't act like you my friend when I'm rollin' through my ends, though
Can't really trust nobody with all this jewelry on you
My roof look like a no-show, got diamonds by the boatload
Come with the Tony Romo for clowns and all the bozos
My AP goin' psycho, lil' mama bad like Michael
Can't really trust nobody with all this jewelry on you
My roof look like a no-show, got diamonds by the boatload
Don't act like you my friend when I'm rollin' through my ends, though
