Taking Care Of You!
Hey there Beauty B's!
Everyday I keep hearing people remind me to take care of myself. You see I am one of those people who feels guilty for calling out sick, or who thinks about how I am losing out on making that money to pay bills and everything else it takes to maintain a Beauty B. It finally dawned on me today, the one time I finally get sick and finally realize I am no superman and I can't always run a million miles per an hour.
Part of beauty whether male, female, or whoever you want to identify as is keeping in tune with your body. Your body will tell you when something is wrong or if it needs something. For instance I don't ever drink enough water and so my lips tend to get very dry which is a sign from my body to hey wake up and hydrate with water instead of that ever some yummy Coca Cola. The other thing our bodies tell us is if we have been going too hard for too long. Guys we can cover our bags with as many concealers, and eye creams as we want, but our bodies will shut down on us when we need them the most. Today I am personally feeling this. I am very in tuned with my body more so than ever before, I think that life in New York taught me a very tough lesson about this. If you are not feeling well don't do what I used to do. I used to be infamous for putting on a ton of bronzer in order to give myself color, chug three or four red bulls, full coverage foundation, and concealer just to mask on the outside that I was literally dying. I think about this more and more these days and have started thinking not only was I running myself down, but guys we are spreading our germs to others. Sharing with others is great, but not sharing our cooties.
So today I want to leave you with this short and sweet message from the sick Beauty B in the bed right now still dying and fighting off rotating hot and cold, horrible cough, and for some reason extreme fatigue. I want you all out there to make sure you are taking care of you. I am not just talking about the exterior, and yes that's coming from someone in the beauty world. Take time to keep things balanced inside and out. I am talking about your mind and your internal system too. You see we go so hard these days that sometimes we all forget whether on purpose or accidental about ourselves. We all have goals and dreams and we can reach them, but we have to make sure that we take care of ourselves so that we can stay functioning at top level in order to reach those aspirations.
So the next time you are sick, or if your body is trying to tell you something, don't ignore the signs and make sure to focus and take the time necessary for you.
If you don't take care of yourself, how do you expect to take care of others?
