Raise Your Glass

Hey there Beauty B's!

So I have a confession to make and I hate making this one but as I am studying public health I need to practice what I preach. I literally do not ever drink enough water. I mean I am probably most days almost dehydrated. I hate admitting this but recently on my journey of beauty and putting myself in check I started to see the difference in my skin when I do not get enough water. Lately I have been on my Cherry Coke kick, and yes Coke never Pepsi lol! So here's the thing since I love and am obsessed with beauty I decided to really dig into my text books and elsewhere and do some research to really make me and others think about why we all need to increase our water intake. I know, a lot of you are rolling you eyes and saying I drink coffee, but I am talking strictly water. Everyday I see clients who complain about dry skin and sure products do help but let's get the best results from the products by adding simple things internally that can help us externally along with our wonderful beauty products. Check out below as we raise our glasses to water, and toast to beautiful skin!

Drink up

  • The very first thing I had to mention is that water is almost free. Notice how I did say it's almost free as we do pay water bills at home, however you can access public water fountains in many places, and at most restaurants water is free. On top of that if somewhere does charge for water it's inexpensive unless it's bottled water of course. So really for all of us there is no excuse not to hydrate, unless we are in the Sahara desert without an ounce of water.
  • Water will help deliver essential nutrients to your skin cells. This will help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, pores, and will boost your elasticity of your skin.
  • Drinking water can actually help keep your skin soft and supple.
  • Do you have psoriasis, eczema, or red skin? Did you know that staying properly hydrated inside and out can actually help prevent flare ups of these conditions. It can also help when you have flare ups to calm down the flare up quicker.
  • Many people out there believe that drinking water can actually help reduce acne.
  • Drinking water clearly will HELLO....HYDRATE your skin!
  • Lastly I had to put this in but it's very true. Water can help flush toxins out from the body, and yes those toxins effect the skin. It also helps the digestive system in this process.

I decided to keep this short and sweet and hit some key points for you to all think about. I want everyone out there to get the best skin they can get. I am serious products are very important but you also need to help your products help you. Remember an apple a day keeps the doctor away, however, 8 glasses of water a day with keep you glowing all day!

So I'd like to propose a toast to good skin, and for reaching for the stars!

So raise your glass if you are wrong,
In all the right ways,
All my underdogs,
We will never be never be, anything but loud
And nitty gritty, dirty little freaks
Won't you come on and come on and raise your glass,
Just come on and come on and raise your glass
