You Are Correct(or)!

Hey There Beauty B's!

Lately I keep running into this issue working with clients that everyone thinks they need to color correct or that they are ready to add it to their routine. I decided that I wanted to break it down for everyone so that they know exactly what they are looking for and if they truly need it. Also I will say this, if you want a routine that is short and sweet and to the point, color correcting is another step in the process for you to remember. Personally I do not recommend this for newbies as it's already confusing enough for them let's not confuse them more. When you get comfortable with applying your makeup then start adding things to the process and getting adventurous. I will say that if it is a major issue for you and would make you feel better then go ahead and do it but try to have someone sit down with you and walk you through how to do this. Check out below what each color does and after I explain the proper application method for you.

Peach/Orange:
This is one I often get asked about all the time. Peach and Orange cancels out the blue and purple in the skin. Normally this is found under the eyes for a lot of people. If this is an area of concern for you and your concealer alone is not giving you the look you want this may be the solution to take your look to the next level. It really can make eyes look more awake after a long night out on the town or just a long weekend.

Green:
Green is going to cancel out any redness in the skin. I always remember this trick because I think of Christmas and the dominant colors associated with it. Green works really well for issues like acne, sunburn, Rosacea, and broken capillaries. A little goes a long ways when you use green you do not put this all over your face. There are green primers out there that color correct but do not use them on the whole face as you will look like Elphaba from Wicked. Don't do that now dear.

Lavender/Purple:
Okay this color corrector is going to help cancel out that dull looking skin you sometimes get. Sometimes the skin may look a little too yellow, and I mean more yellow than normally for some of us and this will truly help brighten up your skin tone. Often times there is a word associated with this that people tend not to understand and that word is Sallow. Sallow means that the skin may appear to look unhealthy or may have brown spots appearing. This will help brighten them up and brighten your skin up getting it ready for a flawless makeup application.

Yellow:
This one is very easy and it's going to cancel purple within the skin. It is also going to even out skin tone. It's also great using under the eyes if they look tired and any other portions of the skin that may not have the luster it normally has. Great for olive skin tones.

Now I would like to leave you with a few things. First this is the order you need to do to get the best result with you color correcting. You are going to do all your skin care first, yes moisturize the skin. You will then follow up with a primer to keep the makeup on and so that it will go on smoother. You will then put the color corrector on FIRST before your foundation for the best results. After you have your color corrector on, and your foundation is on, you will follow up with the concealer. Follow this order and you will have a vast improvement in your makeup application. Your selfie game will be so on point no one will wanna swerve in your lane!

Here are some recommendations below for color correctors!

I listed these in order by brands I have actually used and they are in the order of how I love them. Goes from Left to Right: Bobbi Brown, Lancome, Makeup Forever, Urban Decay, L'Oreal, NYX, LA PRO, Wet N Wild, Maybelline. Check them out some of these won't break the bank either while the others are investment pieces.

Gotta go Beauty B's, I have homework to do and a lot of intense skin detoxing.
