RESCUE ME!

Hey there Beauty B's!

How many times have you had a weekend where you just went way to hard and on Monday you are literally looking for a rescue for your skin. Well Today I am going to walk you through a routine for when you need to rescue your skin from yourself. Think about this, you are out late drinking with friends, you may eat greasy food late at night because of this, you may fall asleep with your makeup still on, or the always fun the walk of shame where you probably won't have any of your products and most likely won't want to use the products your fling has around. That's where these steps and products are going to come into handy to help bring you skin back to life without breaking the bank. Check out below as I broke down a very simple skin care routine to a RESCUE. This will take a little time as there is a face mask step involved but it is totally worth it.

Beauty By Mike Rescue Tips and Tricks for recovering from a long week-end:

1.) The most important thing to do is obviously to cleanse your skin. I recommend one product in particular because I have had good results with it in the past. That product is the La Roche-Posay Tolerane Hydrating Cleanser. The product is excellent for sensitive skin yet it really does get down and remove any traces of makeup, dirt. and impurities in the skin. The great news is that while the product is doing this it's not interfering with the PH balance of your skin. Three ingredients I love in this product are of course glycerin which creates a barrier to keep the moisture in the skin, you then have the thermal water which has anti-oxidants in it and will also help hydrate your skin, finally you have Niacinamide (this is a mouthful) which has vitamin B3 which will help soothe your skin. I do suggest using a cleansing brush with this, I personally stand by and recommend investing in a Clarisonic which you can find at: Ulta, Macy's, Sephora, Dilliards, Target, Saks, and Nordstrom's. This part is a major investment but I am telling you months down the road your skin will thank you.

2.) The next thing you really need to do to help your dehydrated skin is to tone. Now many people say that toning your skin when it's dry is crazy, but it's not. You need to use a toner with Rose Water infused in it. Rose is anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, hydrating, and will help balance out any areas that may be producing oil. I have picked three Rose Water Toners for you guys that won't break the bank. You can find them at most Walmarts, Targets, drugstores, and Ulta Beauty. I suggest either the Mario Badescu Rose Water Toner, The Garnier SkinActive Soothing Facial Mist, or Thayers Witch Hazel with Rose Water. The price range is anywhere from $6-$12.

3.) The next step may sound strange but you are going to do your mask. You can do any mask for hydration that you prefer. I actually am going to give you my recipe below of what I enjoy and why. I suggest using 1 banana, 2 tablespoons of raw honey, and 1 teaspoon of orange juice. Mix the three ingredients into a bowl very well and apply to the face with a synthetic foundation brush. Leave the mask on for 15-20. So now you are wondering what does those things do for me. First the banana is putting back into the skin potassium, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, and moisture which is going to make your skin radiant once again. Next we talk about the honey. Honey is great for providing hydration to the skin, it will also help decrease any inflammation of the skin, another bonus is that it can help gentle remove surface dead skin cells leaving a smoother canvas and your skin is ready to absorb your moisturizer is so desperately needs. Finally the Orange Juice has vitamin c which is going to help brighten the skin. On top of that it can help clean out clogged pores. Make sure to rinse this mask off with warm water.

These are three mask I highly recommend for dehydrated skin. Check out the Pur Cosmetics Agave Mask as it makes your skin mermaid blue, and while doing so literally is putting energy back into the skin and hydrating and plumping it. The Neutrogena is a quick fix for less money and does the job okay. Now if you are going to splurge the GlamGlow thirsty mud is great for hydration however it is expensive and sometimes I find myself running through this product rapidly.
This is the homemade mask with the banana, honey, and orange juice.

4.) I wanted to sneak this little trick in because not too many people actually talk about this. Everyone know the cucumber trick and how that helps soothe dark circle's and tired eyes so they say, but have you tried kiwi. Seriously slice the kiwi into halves that will fit right under your eyes. Leave them there for about 15 minutes. This is perfect to do while you are doing you hydration mask. The reason why kiwi is great is because it has Vitamin C which will help brighten up those under eyes. Also it's great to help rejuvenate those tired eyes. Make sure to follow up with your eye cream after. I recommend PUR Cosmetics EYEDENITY which will literally bring you back from the dead.

5.) Lastly I am going to keep it simple you can go ahead and apply you moisturizer. The thing is if your skin is dehydrated I would recommend using a cream as it's a thicker consistency and will provide a lot of hydration for the skin. I also would recommend you adding two drops of an oil of your choice to the moisturizer. I can suggest coconut as it literally is very hydrating and will give you radiance, it also is an oil that fights oil meaning it won't clog your pores. I suggest using the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. It's great for all skin types and super hydrating. Also lately I have noticed a lot more people in the world having Psoriasis and eczema on their face and this is perfect to help with that situation. The product is not full of any harsh chemicals and is dermatologist tested.

Well Beauty B's you have just been rescued by Mike!

Now I gotta go as I am run down from my B-Day weekend!
