What Lies Beneath.........Seriously?!

Hey Beauty B's!

As many of you are I love my Beauty Blender, but never really think about what lies beneath. Sure I wash my Beauty Blenders, but are we getting the best wash. Recently and old method popped up on one of my beauty guru friends feeds and they mentioned microwaving the Beauty Blender. At first when I heard this years ago, I rolled my eyes and said yeah right no way. Finally a couple years older and wiser I now know and understand the concept behind it. So I put it to the test and I have to tell you I am eating my words...I should have been doing this all along. Check out below step by step and get your Beauty Blender truly sanitized for not only excellent makeup applications, but better skin!

Get your Beauty Blender better than ever:

1.) Select a microwavable container or cup. I like to use a large clear container as I can see the end results. Plus I do my method a little differently.

2.) Fill the container with warm water to start and mix in a mild soap you would use to clean your brushes with. Make sure it's gentle.

3.) Wet the Beauty Blender and get it soaked in water, then roll it around in some soap in the palm of your hand.

4.) Place the soapy Beauty Blender in the warm water and soap mixture.

5.) Place the container in the microwave for some say a minute I actually do 90 seconds.

6.) Take out the container and let the Beauty Blender soak in the hot water and soap mixture. Every once in a while I press down on mine with a large wooden spoon to get more gunk out. The mixture should pull stuff out on it's own but I like to agitate it like in a washer.

7.) I let the Beauty Blender stay in the water until it is cool. Normally I leave in for about 25 minutes but it may differ according to your microwave and how hot it makes the water.

8.) Finally I run cool water over the Beauty Blender and squeeze until the water runs clean.

9.) I let it air dry and then boom nice and sanitized. (The microwave actually can help ZAP bacteria....thus keeping your skin flawless!)

*I did this with my Beauty Blender, and me Real Techniques Blender and got excellent results. (Results may vary on how to interpret the method...but mine worked wonders for me.) Also do not dry in a container with a lid on as that will lead to mold.*

Gotta go and get inspired!
