But First Let Me Take A Selfie!
Hey Beauty B's!
Did you remember my challenge I started? That's right that really hard challenge of not taking selfies for 30 days. Well I beat it! I did 35 days with no selfies and boy did it made me think. First I love taking a selfie as much as the next person but maybe I spend too much time doing it. I mean it's great to have instafans but it's better for people to see you in reality! I will say it's lovely to get comments from people online but in person it's a lot different. Also spending time finding the right light, and angels is timely if you think about it. With all that time I have been busy figuring out my next steps in life to begin a very big year for me.
Food for thought: Did you know that many psychologists have come up with the name for obsessive selfie taking. Yep it's called Selfitis and there are three levels of it. The three are: Borderline Selfitis, Acute Selfitis, and Chronic Selfitis. I picked three highlights of things that struck me about the disorder.
1.) They say that people with the condition often times take selfies and post to social media because they gain enormous attention. Clearly it's a great marketing tool but it can be damaging for someone with low self esteem.
2.) People often times become more positives about themselves by sharing selfies on social media.
3.) Some post selfies expecting praise from their friends.
4.) Some find that taking selfies can relieve stress.....this could be seen as a good or a bad thing. There are healthier ways to relieve stress.
5.) Does taking a selfie make you enjoy the environment you are in more?
Those are just a few highlights I wanted you to think about. There are a lot more out there if you do you research. Remember selfies are okay but in moderation like everything else.
Here ya go Beauty B's! My first selfie after 35 days!
Gotta go the distance!
