Why I AM A UNICORN AND A MASK!
Hey Beauty B's!
I wanna say thank you to all of you who read my blog and who give me support and positive energy. Some of you probably want to know why I blog other than because I love beauty and I am a geek. Blogging and beauty in general have helped me during my depression. On days I have to go to these appointments and I am not feeling fabulous I still wanna look good to everybody in public, but in my therapy sessions that's when I am okay with feeling exposed. Beauty brings joy to me everyday because I get to try new products, research them, give feed back whether I love or hate within reason, and share my tips, tricks, and secrets with the world. I have to say I love all cosmetics but one brand and one mascot have helped me. L'Oreal say's because I'm worth it, and they remind me everyday I am worth it and I am worth battling depression head on and I am worth finding my prince charming. Then my mascot the Unicorn. I know everyone is loving unicorns especially in the beauty world but they have a deeper meaning to me and I actually kinda have made it my personal depression mascot....along with glitter. The thing is....not everyone believes in Unicorns, not everyone believes in magic (whether it;s the higher powers you believe in, or just some person in your life that loves you so much that they can't stand to see you hurt)......but magical things happen, like Unicorns. Unicorns are me are beings that beat the odds, they defy gravity, and yes they march to the beat of their own drum. In the mental health world, most of those people myself included if you look close enough and listen are truly Unicorns. We are trying with the help of others....others who are positive and supportive....trying to heal and to grow and to understand ourselves and help you understand us also. Being a Unicorn is often very hard, as we are often times shoved into cages when society doesn't fully know how to handle us. Some of us require those cages, others require their own space to grow and learn, while others need to be monitored closely by love ones. I myself know the feeling of all the above, but am constantly forced into a situation that is unhealthy for me. I am the type of Unicorn that needs some space from close people that are toxic and don't seem to fully understand me or listen to me fairly. Enough about me. I want you all out there to remember this depression is hard, and any mental illness as a whole is hard. Try to look at it from a different perspective, believe in the magic, because without it us Unicorns can't exist and we can't DEFY GRAVITY!
Now check out my Unicorn mask in honor of me focusing and bringing attention to mental health....while still slaying it.
Pretty Animalz Anti-blemish mask by Masque Bar at Target..... UNICORN MASK (Not sure if still available but if they read my blog they should def make it a big deal and donate money to help raise mental health awareness.)
1.) Important ingredient is glycerin to seal in that moisture to your skin.
2.) Kiwi fruit extract- this has Vitamin C in it which is great for your blemishes and the dark spots they can leave. Vitamin C when used properly and over time can help fade the appearance of your dark spots. It also has Vitamin E which helps with your anti-aging.
3.) Flower/leaf/stem extract- this is going to help with flakiness and dryness of the skin. It will also help restore the suppleness of your skin. YAY!
4.) Grapefruit- Helps fight off free radicals. Also its great for giving your skin the glow you want and need.
5.) Honeysuckle- the last ingredient that made me love this mask....it's great for anti-inflammation. Perfect for those with troubled ace skin.
So if you can find the mask check it out, and if Target Corp reads this...bring the Unicorn mask bask and please help raise awareness for mental health we greatly need it.
Gotta go wish upon a star for Prince Charming, and my Happily Ever After!
