Don't Spray It!

Hey Beauty B's!

They tend to say that successful people have weird hours and require little sleep some days, well I am one of those people. To be big you gotta think big and I plan on ending this year with a bang. Well while I am slaying and planning these moves, I need to still look good while doing so right? I mean come on I probably am sitting right now in a full face of makeup I just put on and its 5am and my day won't end from public eye sight till about 7. Hope I have a good setting spray!

Speaking of which guess what! I don't have a good setting spray! Normally I splurge and spend a pretty penny on my setting spray. Currently I decided to try something new and pulled out a setting spray from my items to try box. I pulled out the NYX Dewy Setting Spray. Sure I have used it before and  thought it was okay but today I decided that I wanted to know what was really in the setting spray and needed to decide if not spending a fortune on one was worth it.

Well here is where things get a little tricky. I am not really an ingredients snob, but I am. Guys when you read the ingredients they are listed as followed: Water / Aqua / Eau, Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, PVP, Phenoxyethanol, Disodium EDTA, Niacinamide.

Well what are your thoughts on that ingredients list? Are we on the same page? Well here's the deal. Water is the first ingredient and I mean I understand that but it's followed up by alcohol. Sure alcohol is going to kinda shrink you skin pores but it also can lead to clogging. Then we move on to Propylene Glycol which is a good ingredient because it helps the skin retain its moisture. Meaning you look healthy and dewy. Honestly I am going to let you form your own opinion about PVP. From my research it shows that in low dosages like in cosmetics its okay, but it can be potentially carcinogenic.  Phenoxyethanol is an anti-bacterial ingredient also it's an alternative on the market for parabens. Women nursing should avoid using this many say. And lastly Niacinmide is the only real ingredient i want to use on my face in this product. It's also known as vitamin B3.  This is great for aging skin. It also can help with improvement of the appearance of enlarged pores, uneven skin, fine lines, wrinkles, and dullness. Just a fun fact it actually can hold up in heat and light making this item in setting sprays very valuable!

Sorry to disappoint guys. Don't get me wrong some of you may love it, but it's just I personally will be investing in a quality setting spray again. This product will be going into my beauty graveyard, unless they reformulate.
